Your data, plainly
You read guides, try calculators and, if you want, can ask for an introduction to a licensed financial advisor. Here is what we collect at each step and what you can do about it.
Questions and answers
The ordinary things. Your device asks for pages through Cloudflare, which sees each request and your IP address. The calculators do their sums in your browser, so nothing you type reaches us. The site is not for kids, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
You go through four steps: your situation, your money, your goals and how to reach you. Name, email and phone are required. Net worth, income and investable assets are ranges, not exact figures, and you also tell us your state, your main goal, your timeline and whether you already work with an advisor. We store it on our cloud infrastructure and receive it by email, and a bot check, a hidden trap field and rate limits guard the form.
Someone on our team reads it first, then gets in touch to find out exactly what you are after. After that we match you with a licensed financial advisor, and your request can be shared with up to three of them. Advisors may pay for these introductions, and before paying they see only an anonymous summary; they get your name and contact details only once they buy the request. The box you tick on the form is your yes to being contacted by phone or email and to this sharing.
Until you say yes to cookies, Google Analytics sits in its denied, cookieless setting and the other tools stay off. After that, the site can bring in Google Analytics 4 for traffic counts, Google AdSense for ads and the Meta Pixel for ad and social measurement. Both can send details of your visit on to Google and Meta. We use Yandex Metrica to count page visits and to help Yandex Search find our pages, with session recording off.
When your browser turns on Global Privacy Control, we take that as you saying no to sale and sharing, Yandex Metrica stays off, and the request you send is marked do-not-sell. You can also use the Do not sell or share my personal information page. What you pick there is saved in your browser only.
We keep a request as long as we need it to make your match and to meet legal record-keeping rules. Tell us if you want it deleted, and it goes, except for anything a legal rule obliges us to hold on to. It sits on our cloud infrastructure, and the form checks above are there to keep bots out.
If you live in California, the CCPA and CPRA let you ask us what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, and tell us not to sell or share your information. People in other states may have similar rights where they live. We will not treat you worse for asking. Use the contact page for any of it.
